Shipping Policy

Veseys takes pride in providing great customer service. We will do all we can to ensure your order arrives safely and in a timely fashion. Please allow a reasonable time for orders to reach you. If you feel your order has been unduly delayed, please check with your local post office before contacting Veseys.

We are pleased to ship with every order, a free 62 page Growing Guide researched and written by our own in-house horticulturalists. It is filled with planting, maintenance and storage tips for Seeds, Bulbs, Perennials, Roses, Shrubs and Berries as well as a color hardiness zone map of Canada.

Seed Products, Books & Accessories: Generally we ship these items within 5 business days unless Xpress Post OR Courier is requested, in which case we will make every attempt to ship within 24 hours. In the unlikely event that your seeds, books or accessories are backordered, you will find these items listed on your order confirmation in a separate grouping entitled SEED BACKORDERS. These items will be shipped to you as soon as they become available.

Cutting Plants: Cutting Plants: Cutting plants are shipped at the end of April and the beginning of May. Please refer to our catalog for the cutoff date for orders or contact us for further information.

Perishable Goods: We do our best to ensure that you receive your product at the proper time for planting. Perishable Goods requiring spring planting including Spring Bulbs, Spring Perennials, Roses, Shrubs, Potatoes, Onions Sets, Garlic Sets, and Berries will begin shipping in late March/early April, commencing with customers located in the higher hardiness zones. Fall Bulbs, Fall Perennials and Fall Garlic will begin shipping in late September commencing with customers located in the lower hardiness zones. For those ordering after these shipping dates, you can expect delivery approximately two to three weeks after you have placed your order (most locations), unless we consider it still too early for your region.

Packing & Shipping of Bulbs: To enable us to maintain our low prices and ship to you on time for planting in your area, our bulbs are pre-packed in the units indicated for each variety. We cannot split these packs.

Shipping & Handling Fees:

Regular orders are shipped via Expedited Parcel Post. See charges below. Charges apply to each shipping address. No Shipping and Handling is charged when you purchase only a Gift Certificate.

Please Note: Due to the timing of shipments, shipping locations and the substantial costs associated with shipping roses, shrubs, bulbs and perennials, any items ordered from our Spring Planting catalogue will be charged separately for shipping and handling.

Other exceptions to our standard shipping rates include custom seed packaging and special offers. Additional shipping and handling charges on such items will be clearly denoted in the item descriptions. If you have any questions, please contact us at customerservice@veseys.com.

Taxes:

Customers who are residents of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and the Territories pay only 5% GST. Only customers from Newfoundland, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia pay 13% HST. 5% GST or 13% HST is payable on all items except zero rated items (see below). GST/HST is also payable on shipping and handling charges. P.E.I. residents pay 5% GST and 10% PST.

Zero Rated Items: Revenue Canada does not require GST/HST on large quantities of vegetable seeds. The following is the definition of the items deemed Zero Rated (i.e. no GST).

• Peas, beans and corn only in sizes over 5kg and/or count sizes greater than 20,000 seeds.
• Small seeds (vegetable seeds other than peas, beans and corn) in sizes over 125g and/or count sizes greater than 2500 seeds.
• Onion sets, garlic sets and potatoes are also Zero Rated. (i.e. no GST/HST)
• Gift Certificates.
