Posted by cheryl on Saturday, July 19, 2008 11:43 am ADTIs it for your flower beds or the vegetable garden? In my beds I find that the wooly thyme is the best although all the thymes are good and in my veggie patch I use bark mulch between my raised beds.

Posted by christina on Monday, August 4, 2008 4:15 pm ADTI have been doing garden work for other people for many years, and have found that plants like Lamium, Ajuga, and some of the low growing Sedum, are fast growing ground covers that can be controlled fairly easy. They grow in sun or shade and have shallow roots, so you can grow them under shrubs, trees and just about anywhere. They will shade the ground, so weed seeds won't have much chance to even germinate. They also keep the soil moist and cool, just like mulch does.
