I have very healthy hens & chickens which get the flower spikes regularly, however, they never seem to open to a flower? I get several "buds", but they die off before flowering? Any ideas or suggestions?

Hi Gail, It seems to me that it is very hot sun and near drought conditions that promote blooms on succulents.

Are they very crowded together, with no room to grow? Mine were in a rock garden and became too confined to their space. I find if I dig out and thin them, they do much better. They flower every year and have been in the same spot for almost 20 years.
