  • looking for a formula for soilless seedling soil

I have a hobby green house and I am looking for a formula for a soilless seedling soil. I was told what to use but not the quantities. I have the peat moss, vermiculite, super phosphate, and lime but not the amounts I should use. Vince

I have used 1/3 vermiculite, 1/3 soilless commercial grow mix and 1/3 peatmoss plus a tablespoon of lime to a gallon of mix as a seed starter mix. I sift this to make a clump-free starter mix. I have also used 30% commercial grow mix, 30% peatmoss, 30% composted sheep manure, and 10% sand plus the same lime, as above, as a growing mix for larger transplants. Both seem to be fine. I hope it's not too late for 2000. Good luck!!

      I'm a gardener -- not a typist -- the year, of course, is 2001.
