My sister gave me a beautiful Asiatic Liy for my Birthday. Does anyone know; are they the same as other bulbs that need dug up in the Fall? Also if they become too big, can I separate the bulbs when I dig them up in the Fall??

You can leave the lilly bulb in the ground during the winter, there are hardy. Once they multiply you can dig them up and seperate, keeping the best bulbs and replant them. Best to do this early fall, it gives the bulb a chance to adjust prior to winter.

I had second year red asiatic lilies come up this spring. The foliage grew to almost 4 feet and was quite healthy. Problem is, when the blooms formed and opened they were mishapen, only three petaled and lasted only a day or so before coming off, nor were they very large, as the year before. Any ideas, suggestions or help? Thanks....
