I planted Scotia tomatoes for the first time in my new home in Pembroke, Ontario and although I have had a great quantity of tomatoes, similar to what I have had in the past, instead of great tasting tomatoes, they are mushy and bland in flavour. I don't know what is missing - as we added compost, fertilizer, etc to the soil before planting. I have grown these tomatoes in the past in the maritimes - is there something different in Ontario that I am missing? or am I watering too much? The beds here are raised and we have a very constant drying wind blowing across the garden so they are watered frequently, every 2-3 days, and deeply, as it waters down 6-8 inches.
