Posted by Ferne on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 10:38 am ASTAsian Lilies are quite different from Oriental Lilies. Asian lilies usually bloom in mid summer and multiply fairly rapidly, most don't have a lot of scent. Oriental lilies are beautiful and generally have a lot of perfume but are more difficult to grow and don't tend to mulitply. They generally bloom later (August). I would suggest that you start with Asian Lilies...They come in various heights. Another easy to grow lily would be the Trumpet Lilies but they are mostly quite tall and sometimes need staking, also highly perfumed in many cases.
