  • Planting potentilla fall bulbs

I would like to know when and how to plant Royal Velvet potentilla bulbs, which I received yesterday with my other fall bulbs. The only planting instructions I could find were for spring so I am a little bit confused as to what to do with these bulbs.

Potentilla does not have a bulb. It has roots, which you should plant immediately if you still can in your area. Just dig a a good size whole, mix in a bit of aged manure or compost if you have some or can get some. Then plant you root a few inches below the surface, with any neck sticking up just to surface level. Marking the spot so you remember what is there in the spring would be a good idea too.
