I've always loved peonies in the garden. I am interested in trying tree peonies but I don't know anyone who has tried them. Are they hard to grow? Do they compare to shrub peonies for ease of care? Can they be moved and divided? If so, how?

Once you get it established you sounld not have problems. They like full sun but can take a little shade, when planting set the graft 10 to 12 inches deep to stop it from reverting back to a common peonie.Mulch it for winter. Bill

Hi I have a tree peony for 3 years now. They are not supposed to be moved so plant them in a good spot. Their roots go very deep so prepare the ground accordingly. Otherwise they are easy to grow but much slower than the norm peonies. When they bloom they are very pretty. The first year you will get 1-2blooms and gradually increase. They are well worth your effort. Hope this helps.
