My husband came home today with 4 packages of bulbs. We live in Zone 3 and I dig up my other bulbs every Fall because they cannot winter our cold. The newest addition to my "bulbs" are Freesia, Gladioli, Shooting Stars and Shell Flowers. Can anyone advise me on what to do...Do I have to dig these up in the Fall along with my other bulbs?? Thanks in advance and happy gardening!

What a sweet husband you have :)... Yes, I would definitely dig those beauties up in the fall. Usually those types are hardy to zones 8 or 9. Good luck ~ enjoy them!

Jennifer - are the Shell Flowers ....Mexican Shell Flowers? I love these flowers, while the flower only opens for one day, they are so beautiful. I have grown in the ground, but this year, thinking of putting in pots....but yes, dig them up as they will not winter over in the cold. Enjoy them - usually they open end of July. And yes, what a sweet hubby u have.
