Posted by Christina on Monday, August 4, 2008 3:31 PM ADTI have a favorite plant called toad lily and it just begins to flower in Sept. all the way until a heavy frost hits, usually about Halloween. There are others like turtlehead, sedum autumn joy, fall blooming New England asters, and some chrysanthemums. A friend of mine has a tall, pink bellflower that blooms in September. There is also an autumn crocus, monkshood, and plants like Black-eye-susans, that will flowers right up to a hard killing frost.
