I have something in my gardens that is killing my mature cucumbers plants almost overnight. First they appear wilted (a few leaves) Within 2 or 3 days the whold plant has crumble and withered. They have been producing well them zap.

If you look very closely to the leaves you may find that you have bugs...actually yellow stripped cucumber beetles. Ours started out this year with them and the plant went very much the same. Use a spray bottle of water and add a capfull of dish soap to it and spray all over the leaves, flowers. Reapply after a rain. This is an environment solution. This helped with ours, but you have to be vigilant. If they are not beetles...sorry I do not know!! Happy gardening and good luck!!!

I have had the same problem and I believe it is due to all the rain we have had here in southern Ontario. It is caused by fungal diseases in the soil. They are always there, but when it is very rainy and the soil doesn't have a chance to dry out for more than a couple of days, then they grow and will spread rapidly. Mine went from the tomatoes, to the cucumbers within a few days.

I live in Hamilton ontario and we planted cucumber seeds and they are flourishing tons in our back yard. We have had several feeds of them. They get lots of sun and of course lately a ton of rain but are fairing up well. Good luck
