I'm thinking of purchasing some of these but am wondering if they require special cages or staking. Do they, in fact, grow 6-8' as advertised?

Hello, I just saw your note and thought I would give you some information about what I know. I live here in Sacramento County in the out lying area of, Wilton, CA. I have grown flowers both in my previous home of Rocklin, CA (hot and dry area) and over at my dad's home in Sacramento. I was rather impressed with Leslie Woodriff, Sheherazde, Black Beauty and Gold Eagle. As we tend to get some rather hot days here in Sacramento, all 4 of these did remarkably well. I had other flowers growing around them, which helps to keep the ground better protected from the blistering heat. These do not need staking and tend to "reach for the sky". All 4 were a minimal 5 foot high the 1st year in and subsequent years, gained a good 8 inches. I moved and gave away a lot of my lilies, but am starting over with these tried and true, heat & drought tolerant Beauties! I recommend them to friends, family and co-workers and yes, strangers too constantly! Makes great gifts for others. Hope this helps you. Look into B&D Lilies and The Lily Garden for really great quality bulbs. Lenore :)
