Gardeners’ Forum: “Small Seedlings”

Posted by Carol on Monday, April 20, 2009 7:40 PM ADTI have started several seeds indoors. I have the proper lighting for them, but they seem to be extremely tall and skinny. There are still a few weeks before the last frost so I can't plant them outdoors yet. How can I fatten up the seedlings before transplanting?

Posted by Cheryl on Thursday, April 30, 2009 11:56 AM ADTAfter using a seedling mix to start. I move them onto regular potting soil, but I know plenty of people that keep using the soiless mix. I just find that I have to water less with potting soil and I start a tonnes of plant so the less watering the better for me.
