Hello, this is the third year for my tree peony and it doesn't seem to have weathered the winter very well, I'm in zone 5b and the tree stock appears rotted. Very near the ground I see a new sprout and three very healthy sprouts some distance away which leds me to believe they may be coming from the root stock below the graft. I'm not sure if I should leave these 3 shoots or remove them. Any tree peony experts out there? I really don't want to loose this peony tree it is very beautiful.
