  • Fragrant honeysuckle in Ontario??

Posted by Dagwood on Friday, October 16, 2009 4:03 pm ADT

Does anyone have experiencing with planting a hedge of Lonicera Fragrantissima in central Ontario? I am in Ag-Canada zone 4b/5a and am not sure how well it would survive here. I am also considering beauty bush (Kolkwitzia Amabilis) as a hedging material. Any thoughts thre? The space I need to cover is about 200 feet long and very open. I want th ehedge for privacy in teh summer an da snowbreak in the winter. Prefer to stay away from cedars/boxwoods. thanks in advance, Chris

I have a scented honeysuckle called Goldflame. I live in zone 5b and my honeysuckle survives the northern winter so go for it.
