  • Pepper Plants - 2nd year?

Posted by Natalie on Monday, January 25, 2010 10:15 PM AST

Hi there I grew Explosive Ember peppers in my greenhouse last year and at the end of the season brought a couple of the plants inside for the winter. Will they produce if I put them out again this year? They are healthy but have not put on any height. I am in zone 3a in case that matters. Thanks for the information.

I have successfully over-wintered hot pepper plants for quite a few years. Mine are usually dug and potted up, lose a few leaves when brought indoors, but I try to give them as much light as possible, and a little liquid fertilizer. This way, I get peppers earlier in the summer. I am in Zone 5a.
