I bought them from Burnt Ridge Nursery in Washington State. I am using them as a boundry on property line. They are supposed to attract song birds, Turkey, Quail, and other wildlife. I hope this year we get a see a lot more growth. One of the other reasons we went with them was how quick they grew. Some areas call it a intrusive species. Once it bares fruit birds transport the berries and it spreads really fast. It is very hard to get rid of once it has taken to the soil. They are supposed to be great for jams and are excellent source of Lypotene an which fights cancer.

The thorns are long and very sharp, they puncture tractor tires and render them unrepairable. Does anyone have a method, chemical or otherwise for eliminating them? Thank you
