  I planted some carrots this year (as I do every year), but some of them -- now seemingly mature -- are white. Does anyone have an idea as to why?

    are u sure they are carrot and not parsnips?

    I also found one white carrot among my carrots this year. It is a carrot with a carrot top not a parsnip top. Never seen one in the last 30 years.

    yes I have also found white carrots. just one or two and I too have wonder why.

    My cousin planted carrots this year, from Veseys and you would not beleive but he got a mix of white, orange and red and orange carrots. Ooops! a tasty goof up!

    There are white carrots for sale.. also white pumpkins ands purple carrots too come to think of it [ orange inside]If its not what you bought, then maybe some seeds somehow got mixed up in there.. should be intresting though

    For the last couple of years, I have an increased abundance of carrots that are white amongst the traditional orange ones even though they are all plantedout of the same pack of seeds. I thought it may be an abnormality at first, but now I think it is a problem with quality control in the seed distributors.
