Debbie all petunias should be started in January but you can give yours a try. Use a 4 inch flower pot fill with good potting mix, water, sprinkle seeds on top of soil put pot in clear plastic bag (grocery store produce bag)under lights. When seedlings are 2 inches tall pinch off top two leaves.Wave petunias need lots of fertilizer after they start growing. Bill

My friend and I start our seeds in February! When the plants are big enough we take cuttings and use rooting compound to root the cuttings. They grow easly. Last year we had and abundance of plants from a couple of packs of seed!

I started my wave petunias from pelleted seeds on Feb. 27 and they sprouted by Mar. 4 - but I've seen little growth since. As a matter of fact the tiny seedlings seem to be withering! What am I doing wrong? Please help - as this is my first time starting them from seed!

I have no experience with flowers before. I planted wave petunias from seed. After about a month now, they are about 6-8" tall, and I don't know if I should cut them back or how or where to cut them back. I have them in hanging baskets and each plant has about 6 stems coming off the main stem (alternating on opposite sides of the main stem). Any information would be helpful. Thanks

I am having hte same experience and Janet. I started wave petunias from pelleted seeds, they germinated into hair-like seedlings that have not grown and seem to be ready to die. I've grown started from seed for a couple of years and have never had this happen! What gives?

Hello, I dont strart my Petunia Waves till about march 16. By the time the end of may rolls around they are a great size.I start them in Sunshine Seedling mix, in tray. I do not cover them with any soil becasue they do need light for germination. Bottom heat is also very helpfull. If your seeds are starting to wilt they might have "Damp Off" this will kill the seedlings very fast. You can by a chemical at wall mart called NO DAMP OFF. This should do the trick! If you have any other questions emial me at: templeton.michael@yahoo.ca

I started wave petunias from last year's seeds and they came up and have grown wonderfully but they aren't sending out any blooms. Was I suppose to pinch the runners off? My plants are bigger than the ones I purchased from the nursery but they don't have any blooms, whereas the smaller nursery plants do. Any advice? Thanks
