Penstemon (S)
Hardy in Zones 6 to 8.
Grow in full sun to light shade in rich, very well-drained, evenly moist soil. Grows best in areas with cool summers. Water during dry periods. Divide plants every 4-5 years in early spring. Plant 2 ft. apart with the crowns just below the soil surface. Keep mulch away from crowns to prevent crown rot.
