Osteospermum (A)
Osteospermum ecklonis
Annual
Also known as blue-eyed daisy. Should be started inside 6-8 weeks before last frost. Lightly cover seeds, provide light and germinate at 18-21°C (65-70°F). Seed should sprout within 10-15 days. Transplant outside after last frost date, although Osteospermum is somewhat cold tolerant. Plant 10 inches apart in a full sun location. Well-drained soil is required. If you have heavy clay soil, plants will perform well in pots of soil-less mix. Generally pest free and drought tolerant, though it prefers cool summers. Grows 12-18" high.
