Austrian Pine
Picea nigra
Zone 3-9
Pines transplant relatively easily and should be watered regularly during the first season to help them become established. They perform best when planted in fertile, moist and well drained but will readily adapt to most soil types. This species tolerates salt spray, wind, heat and drought. Can be pruned as a hedge and for shape. Once planted tug the tree. If it seems loose, add more soil and tamp down firmly. Grows up to 100’ tall. Full sun.
