Burning Bush, Dwarf
Euonymus alatus 'Compactus'
Hardy to zone 3, if snow cover is provided
The Dwarf Burning Bush can eventually grow to 3 meters (10 feet) high if unpruned, but is easily kept at 1.2 meters (4 feet). Leaves turn scarlet red in fall. Grow in full sun for best foliage color. Prune in early spring to keep shrubs bushy. Cut back by at least 1/3 and remove any damaged branches. Mulch and water during dry spells. Can be sheared and shaped into a formal hedge.
