Biosta 3-Tier Sprouting Kit

The first time i used this sprouter, the seeds went moldy!! I followed the instructions of stacking the trays, watering, and leaving in a somewhat sunny spot (instructions say small seeds are watered on the first and fourth day). But by the second day the whole thing had gone moldy!! So, the trick i hope is to do it the old fashioned way: rinse morning and night, and leave each tray exposed to air. Basically, i will stack the trays only to water/rinse, then take apart. Hopefully this works!!!! Maybe i should have stuck with a mason jar and cheese cloth!!!! I rate this product 6 out of 10. I'd send it back but i threw out the packaging!

Thanks for posting Anna. The tiny seedlings develop very fine, fuzzy root hairs that can sometimes be mistaken for mould. If you think you are growing mould, look closely at one of the seedlings to determine if it is simply the fuzzy root hairs that you are seeing.
Rinsing the seed is recommended.

This is the easiest way to grow sprouts I have found. I grow several different types of sprouts, but staples are alfalfa and radish. Radish are absolutely wonderful! I use a cloche or a plastic bag to cover individual trays when the sprouts start to get too tall to keep all three trays stacked. I rinse and drain each tray individually using the biosta base. Then I keep one tray with the base and put the other two in pie plates. It is a God send in the winter - but we enjoy it year round.

We have two of these and keep them on a continual cycle. As soon as one is ready we put it in the fridge and start the next one. Also works great for sprouting sunflower seeds--just 12 hours, rinse often and consume immediately. Sprouts are much higher in enzymes.
