Italian Largo Zucchini
This "Striato" or "Romanesco" squash is a delicacy. This hybrid is very long, fairly cylindrical, ribbed and contains very few seeds. Skin is thin with alternate light green and dark green stripes. The nutty flavor is quite interesting and much different than zucchini but grows just like a zucchini. Plants are an open bush-type. Best harvested when 12-16" long. Maturity 59 days. Approx. 20 sds/pkg.
- Squash Tip
- Harvest summer squash when they are 4-8 inches long and when their skin is still shiny. Winter squash can be cut later in the summer or early fall before frost. The skin should should be hard enough so that you can't cut it with your fingernail.
