I picked a beatiful strawberry off of my plant yesterday and found the berry full of ants. Is there something I can do about this? I can't just get rid of an ant hill because they are every where and under everything, have never seen an area that has so many red ants. I'm also on a well so I don't want an all out chemical warefare.

Boiling water is a great way to get rid of ants. It doesn't hurt the plants, although try not to get is directly on them. And yes you will have to do it often but at least it is not chemicals and you water the plants as well

mix equal portions of borax powder and icing sugar, spread in around the hills, the ants take it back to the nest and the borax kills the lot. Works for me,
