My spirea bushes have just about finished blooming. I would like to prune them to tidy them up. When can I prune so I don,t lose next years flowers?

You can thin out the stems if you wish. My personal preference is cutting everything off to the ground every other year. You can really do this any time of the season without hurting the plant. They will start leafing out within a couple weeks. If you do it now, you will probably get blooms again in the late summer. It will bloom again in spring next year as well. You can hardly kill a spirea once it's established.
