Posted by Stephanie on Saturday, March 3, 2001 12:00 am ASTHello..Here is a late response but let me share with you what I learned from a woman in Maine who had a daughter marrying in early Sept. of 1999..my daughter was getting married over Labor Day weekend in 2000 & I was looking for a unique idea for the hall I thought we would hire f/wedding..she told me to go to all the stores in my area like KMart & Walmart etc. & offer to buy the sick & tired looking seedlings & rejects for 10 cents on the dollar (they thrown them away anyway)& get inexpensive pots 4 f/$1..hunt yard sales for pots.. then plant the misfits right in your garden in the ground in the pot..at time of wedding take pots out of the ground hose off & clean up well & transport to wedding site..use cheap grass like carpet as base..lots of green tulle around the pots add rented arches (or you can buy inexpensive ones for about $15 ea. & make wood feet for them to stand..add park bench some well placed garden staues (borrow or rent) & you have instant indoor garden with real flowers & plants..she also had water fountain..it was outstanding..one could also do this outdoors as an addition to exsisting garden or tented wedding site..I chose another site so never got to use the idea but I borrowed a lot of her ideas of arches decorated with star lights tulle & flowers..a hired florist did the cascading arrangents on 20 tables.. I still get compliments on the hall to this day..hope this helped you hope you have a very special wedding day.
