What annuals or perennials do you find do well in dry, sunny conditions ( the soil is moderately good). I prefer lots of color and blooming as long throughout the season as possible. Thanks!

I have a really hot dry bed along the side of my house. I find that Amaranthus Love-Lies -Bleeding grows really well here. A Bulb that you could grow as well is the Dahlia. Ther are many types and colors.

Portulaca! You can't kill it and it re-seeds prolifically. Also, I've had great luck with perennial Blue Flax. It blooms non stop and you don't have to dead-head it. Shasta daisies grow everywhere and anywhere (I can't get rid of enough of them), even up through gravel.

Best flowers for hot and dry are: baby's breath, foxtail lily, sea holly, snow-in-summer, soapwort, gasplant(one of my favorites-it's a blast) blanketflower, coneflower, cornflower, daylily, fleeceflower, hens & chicks, liatris, potentilla, sage(russian) spurge, bitterroot, blue fescue, blue sage, yarrow and yucca, stonecrop. Just remember to water well for the first year and water during hot and dry spells. All of these plants do well in zone 3 where I am. Hope a couple of these will be of use you.
