It's the same situation with potatoes. If you break off the growth coming from the eyes -- guess what -- no potatoes this year!!

Posted by Judy Nolan on Saturday, April 28, 2001 12:25 pm ADTHow long are the sprouts on your dahlia tubors. If they are any longer than one inch I would break them off. I find that any longer than this gives a spindly stalk.
