Hi! My astilbes have finished flowering and are starting to turn brown and fall over. Is this a good time to cut them off or should I leave them throughout the winter. Thank you.

Once the plant turns brown, it basically is finished for the season. I prefer to cut it back, at that time, so the dead foliage does not harbour insects or food for them. The rotting foliage does nothing for the next season's growth. Good luck.
