  • Flats or cell packs?

Posted by Carla on Wednesday, September 19, 2001 1:02 pm ADT

I was wondering, what types of seeds should be started in cell packs (with the individual cells) and which should be started in flats? If I start seeds such as dahlias or marigolds in individual cells, do I need to transplant into larger 3" or 4" containers or can they remain in the cells until planting out. Help, I'm confused about what each type is used for.

I usually start all my seeds into flats and when they have 4 or 6 leaves on them I transplant them into cell paks.
