    White asaragus;Is it true that it is green asparagus grown deprived of light,and if so which would be the best variety to do so.

      Yes, any asparagus can be forced to grow white shoots. In very early spring, just cover the shoots to deprive them of any light. You can use buckets or straw, or soil. There are lots of methods. If light gets to the shoots they will turn green. Even after you harvest the white shoots, you must store them in an opague container to prevent the color change. Cream of White Asparagus soup is supposed to be excellent!
