Hi everyone, first time here. Has any one out there ever used GrowIt Gold gardening software, or know of a simple software for a computer dummy like me?

Hi Marsha, I am looking for a program that will let me put in pictures of my own flowerbeds, remove old plants, insert new plants and let me see what it would look like. I already have Sierra's Custom LandDesigner but am not happy with it. They have a large encyclopedia of plants, but you only have a very small number that you can insert. Have been looking at FlowerScape on the net but you can't put in your own pictures. The only one I have found is GrowIt Gold, but can't find anyone who has used it. It is very expensive ($110) so I hate to buy it without talking to someone who has used it before.

I have benn gardening for six years and have never used a computer program to do my planning for me. Doing your planning by hand may take longer, but you can use your experience and the planning will give you a sense of acheivement. A computer will give you the same layout every year but you will keep trying to improve. Good luck!

Hi Avid Gardner - I have a problem planning where I am going to put different plants and how it will look after awhile. Seems like I spend all my time putting the wrong things in the wrong place. I've been in this house for five years now and all my flower beds look terrible. Thought maybe if I could see how the different plants looked together, I could do a better job. Oh, well, I'll keep trying. Have done a lot of research this winter, maybe things will go better this summer.

Hello, I have been gardening for 3 years now and what I find very useful to make plans for the following year is to take pictures of my gardens at different times of the season (mid-spring, late spring-early summer, mid-summer and fall) so I can see what they look like and what changes are needed. I always have doubles made, so I can keep a set for my photo album and the other one, I draw and write notes on them. You might want to try that. It works for me!

Thank you great idea,Guylaine. I am going to do that this coming flowering season. The pictures will definitely help to fill in the proper color, etc I definitely need something to fill in better in front of my 6-8 ft. delphiniums. Thanks For the one who wanted software for the computer......I have Landscape Design3D( a Christmas gift) But I am not very good at using the computer so I don't use it. You can rearrange things ,and move them around, all kinds of stuff.......Happy gardening
