Posted by Kathy on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 12:28 am ADTI have a perennial that looks like a polka dot plant; it has small flowers in bunches (??) that are mauve-blue and pink in the same bunch and the leaves are splotched with white. The plant has grown quite quickly and bloomed early this spring and still is blooming; a neighbour said they used to call it 'lady and gent' because of the two colours on each flower bunch but didn't know it by any other name. I hope someone can identify it for me. Thanks.

Posted by Pat on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 1:32 pm ADTSounds like Pulmonaria to me. Also known as lungwort. It's a spring flowering plant with the flowers coming out as one colour and turning another colour. Mine grows about 7 in. high and has spots on its leaves (which, years ago indicated spots on lungs, hence the name lungwort).
