Would sun tanning lotion help prevent sunscald on a cherry tree? If so what kind of sun screen would be effective?

I have recently discovered little white worms inside the cherries. What are these white worms from? How do I prevent them from happening again?

sunscreen reflects the sun's ultraviolet rays - sunscald is caused by the differences in temperature, not the damage caused by ultraviolet rays - sunscald can be prevented by wrapping the bark from the late fall to the early spring
