  • Korean "Ivory Silk" Lilac Tree

This spring, my healthy appearing 3 yr. old Ivory Silk Lilac Tree put out its usual mass of buds in May, when to my surprise, a few weeks later, I went out to admire (I thought) blossoms, and found all the buds had dropped off leaving bare little twigs sticking up at the tops of the tree. Help, please - the tree has always produced masses of lovely white blooms in June (Zone 5b/6)

I have 5 Korean Ivory Silk Trees that are 30 years old and the trunk as well as some of the main branches are covered with greenish mold. They are covered with lilacs that will bloom in the next couple of weeks. However, is this mold a sign that the trees are in trouble or is there anything I can spray to get rid of this sightly mold.
