This spring as I was planting my raised beds I found some onion bulbs that I had forgotten the previous fall. I planted them hoping I would have something top pick eventually... Some bulbs grew long green tails..(4-6 feet long). Then collections of small bulbs started sprouting along these "tails"... Can these be used for something? Can they be stored and replanted next spring? Is this common?

They are called Egyptian onions, Tree onions or Walking onions.
