Posted by Sheila Eldridge on Thursday, October 18, 2007 6:27 pm ADTHi: My neighbour gave me roots/tubors from a Yucca plant; he grows them outdoors and they are beautiful. I am not sure how to plant them and where. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I live in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia

Planting them in well drained soil is critical, and the soil need not be rich. If you have a spot where there is sandy soil and full sun, then that's it! :O)

Posted by teresa on Thursday, January 24, 2008 11:19 am ASTI have two yucca plants that are very tall and I wonder if I can just lop off the tops and let them take their natural course. Can they be planted outdoors and left over the winter? I live in the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia. Thanks for any hints.

Posted by julie on Monday, July 7, 2008 7:58 pm ADTHi Ralph... I also have a yucca plant outside that I planted last year, northern Ontario, Marathon..... I was just trimming off the yellow leaves from the spring (I am a slow gardener) and noticed a large asparagus looking flower in the middle of the plant... I only have one plant, so no , you don't need the male and female to have flowers... Julie
