Hi: My neighbour gave me roots/tubors from a Yucca plant; he grows them outdoors and they are beautiful. I am not sure how to plant them and where. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I live in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia

These are plants that belong in FULL sun and are drought tolerant after they are established. Planting them in well drained soil is critical, and the soil need not be rich. If you have a spot where there is sandy soil and full sun, then that's it! :O)

Last summer I took my indoor yucca plant outside it was very hot and some of the leaves went yellowish,I brought it in the house early fall. It is now Jan and a lot of it is yellow I have had this plant for about 5 yrs. Can I cut all the leaves off and just leave the stock, will it grow shoots and survive? I live it Saskatoon Sask, Canada Thanks!

I have two yucca plants that are very tall and I wonder if I can just lop off the tops and let them take their natural course. Can they be planted outdoors and left over the winter? I live in the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia. Thanks for any hints.

I live in Ontario and have many yuccas outside. They survive the winter very well but look terrible in the spring. Can I cut them back, and if so how far? Tom

I am told you need a male & female stock together if you want the Yucca to flower, how many years will it take to flower

Hi Ralph... I also have a yucca plant outside that I planted last year, northern Ontario, Marathon..... I was just trimming off the yellow leaves from the spring (I am a slow gardener) and noticed a large asparagus looking flower in the middle of the plant... I only have one plant, so no , you don't need the male and female to have flowers... Julie

Mine is finally blooming but it's full of ants. Are they needed to open the foliage the same as with the Peonies? -Bedford, Nova Scotia

We have a Yucca outside that has done well and bloomed. Now we need to know if we cut back the stock growing in the centre or leave it alone?

I have two yucca plants in Ont. They both have only bloomed once. How often do they bloom? Do I just cut off the flower part after it has bloomed? Oh they are outdoors. Thanks

I live in Southern Ontario. I have 3 yucca plants in my garden, and they do well. But I want to know when to cut back the flower stems. Fall or Spring?
