I harvested many small peppers but I desire a larger jalapeno. Will thinning (like apples) produce larger peppers or should I seek a different hot pepper. My local grocery sells jalapenos 3-4" in length with a diameter of 1-1.5" My peppers are 2" in length with a diameter of 1/2-3/4". Please advise

Peppers are tricky. They need heat, but over 27c and they can lose blossoms. Too cold, and they go to sleep. If using plants from garden center, try instead to grow from seed. If size matters, go with hybrid, but heirlooms will do better in long run, and you can save seed for following season. PepperJoe.com is a good place to start, and the site can answer more q's.
