Gardeners’ Forum: “Apple trees not flowering”
Back to Gardeners’ ForumApple trees not flowering
Posted by Cheryl Mackenzie on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 12:02 pm ASTI have two apple tree that are getting fewer and fewer blossoms every year. The blossoms that do appear are getting pollinated and produce fruit. One tree only produced a half dozen flowers, I have heard that grass around the base may be the problem, is there anything else that can cause this? Or any suggestion to get them to bloom. Thanks

What Zone are you located in? Improper pruning methods and timing are often the cause of reduced flowering. Have you pruned your trees? And at what time of year?
