Posted by Jennifer barton on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 2:08 pm ASTI am wanting to plant peanuts. Has anyone any experience doing this. I know that I live in a zone5 so I will grow in the Greenhouse, because of their needed growing season. Any helpful hints would be great. Thanks in Advance Jen Barton

Posted by Julie Bannister on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 8:57 pm ADTI have tried to grow peanuts from time to time. I start them early in peat pots, plant them out after last frost date under a small hoop and plastic arangement. I remove the bottom of the peat pots when they go out, completely bury the pots and place an inch of sand around the plants for 8 - 10 inches. I always get a few to keep me trying but that is all. The fall frosts are the ender for getting any good results for me. But I am having fun. Good luck to you.
