I grow them in pots on my deck, which gets full sun all day long. I had some great tomatoes coming, but they split from blossom to root end before they could even start to ripen. Any ideas? Thanks

I'm certainly no expert but find water the most difficult thing about container tomatoes as they dry out more quickly. This year I'm adding those little beads that help hold water. Would also be interested in hearing from successful container gardeners.

I cut the bottom off and insert it with the cap slightly unscrew down into the dirt and then keep the bottle filled and it slowly seeps into the soil. It takes a little adjustment but at least you keep a constant moisture. And also make sure you are using the largest containers possible, 5 gallon is better than 2 gallon.
