Posted by April F. Anderson on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 3:48 PM ASTUsing the equipment shown online can I keep the system alive in the outdoors in a zone 2 to 3 area? Can I start it this winter or do I have to wait until spring? Thanks.

Posted by David on Friday, December 12, 2008 6:37 PM ASTYou can set up a worm bin at any time of the year, even in the depth of winter, indoors. Start a new bin in the basement or any heated area in the house, then come spring it can be extended and moved into the garden for the summer. Come fall before frosts, restart the interior bin from worms from the garden.

Posted by Gloria Fortowsky on Thursday, January 1, 2009 4:35 PM ASTI compost with worms indoors in winter using a Rubbermaid container. I have a problem with small flies in my worm bins. Is this also a problem with the worm bin system sold by Veseys?
