What can you add to soil to make tomatoes grow better? I have heard of adding egg shells, sulpher and water with epsom salts. Does anyone have a mix that works well for you?

For our fairly large garden area we started by tilling in a load of top soil. Loads of manure & added grass clippings and lots of fall tree leaves. With in a fairly short time the soil becomes nice & loamy. Grass clippings add nitrogen to the soil that lasts for years. And you don't have to add anything when planting tomato's other than a little root stimulator to get them off to a good start.
