  • Cherry tree on a balcony

I would like to give a cherry tree a friend for her balcony and I'm wondering how much sunlight it will need. She lives on the 2nd floor and her balcony faces East and is covered (so I think it really only gets partial, morning sun). Would a cherry tree survive out there? Is there a species that grows or flowers easier than others in partial sunlight? Should I get two (so they polinate each other? - dont' really know how that works...) Any advice or actual experiences with a balcony cherry tree would be much appreciated. Happy gardending, Daniel
