  • Brown emerald cedars

Hi, At the end of last summer/early fall, we planted a row of emerald cedars. Some of them weren't in the best condition when we planted them but we followed the recommended planting instructions and figured once they took root, they'd perk up. Unfortunately, that was not the case! Almost all of the cedars are now brown. Is there any hope? Is there anything at all we can do to revive them? Thanks so much for your help!

Ddi you ever get an answer to this? We have the same problem and do not know if they can be saved or not.

We had a similiar problem and we were told to water, water and then add more water. A soaker hose running most of the day is great. It might take a year or two but they will come back we didn't cut ours back or anything they just started to grow. They especially need extra water late in the fall. Hope this helps be patient. Ours look great now but we continue to water deeply.

We just did the same thing. We planted our cedars in the late summer and they weren't in the best shape either. I notice that they are turning brown and I'm getting a little worried. I have been watering like crazy. Someone told me that it could take a couple years before they fully revive. Is there anything else we can do?
