  • Composting Red Maple leaves

I have been composting the leaves of my Red Maple tree for many years. When I compared plants, which I bought at the same time as my friend, mine were always smaller and developed slower. I read an article that red maple tree leaves contain a substance which causes slower growth. Now I compost everything but the leaves of the Red Maple.
