Posted by Richard Marney on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 4:25 PM ADTI live in South Florida and my Amarilis plants have doubled and in some cases tripled in number. Some have grown 4 feet high sporting 15 or more thick healthy leaves. Yet they do not flower. This winter can I shock them into blooming with ice as I have been told by neighbors and friends (Who by the way have no Amarilis). Thanks

Posted by david silber on Monday, November 5, 2007 8:30 PM ASTMy canna lilies have multiplied to such an extent that I am hoping that it's possible to mulch most of them with 4-5 inches of oak leaves and leave them in the ground. I live on Long Island (zone 6). Has anyone had descent survival for cannas using heavy mulching on top of the cut back plants?

Posted by peggy on Saturday, November 8, 2008 1:54 PM ASTI purchased an amaryllis bulb kit. it states you need to prepare the soil first but does not tell what to do. how do I start?
